OFFICAL INVITATION TO THE HOTLANTA SOCCER CLASSIC 2008

Hello to all the soccer fans! A huge hello from Atlanta! To all of our old friends, and the new ones we’ve met over the past the past year, I hope you’re all doing well. It is with great pride that we are launching the official announcement of the Hotlanta Soccer Classic 2008!

The Hotlanta Soccer Classic will be held Memorial Day weekend, with events from Thursday, May 22nd – Monday, May 26th, 2008.

After two years off, the Hotlanta Soccer Classic was re-launched in 2007. We held a very successful tournament of 7 teams in 2007, and I think every team can verify a competitive tournament and a great time. After the success of the ’07 tournament, and the response to our “Save the Date” program in Buenos Aires, we believe the response this year will be larger than ever. In 2008, our goal is 12 teams, which would make the tournament the largest Hotlanta Soccer Classic ever! The tournament will be one of the few men’s 11 vs. 11 men’s tournaments to be held in the United States in 2008, and will again be packed full of events both on and off the field. I will list a small itinerary below, with full details listed on our new tournament website: www.hotlantasoccerclassic.com.

The game-play and registration in brief: All teams will play a minimum of four games. The final number of games will depend on the number of teams that register. This will be updated on the website as information is available. All games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. Preliminary games will have 30-minute halves. Tournament game times will depend on the final number of teams, being no less than 35 minutes. Early team registration will be $80 per player, minimum 15 players. Early individual registration will be $85. All registration after Wednesday April 16th will be $100. Registration includes entrance to tournament, Hotlanta Soccer Classic t-shirt, entrance to opening night party, entrance to the Classic banquet, and entrance to awards & closing party. Optional team dinner and farewell breakfast as not included.

Brief Itinerary:

This year, we would like to encourage the visiting teams to stay in Atlanta longer. We have secured the room rates from Thursday – Monday. For those teams arriving early, several of our sponsors have arranged inexpensive pre-fixed meals for Thursday night, to allow your own private team dinner. Friday will again be the official launch of the weekend, with the opening night party at Blake’s on the Park. Saturday will be all day tournament play, with the Hotlanta Soccer Classic Banquet on Saturday evening. Sunday will finish play, with the final rounds being in the early part of Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon will conclude with the Championship game, an award ceremony, and closing parties. Monday morning, in the host hotel, there will be an optional farewell breakfast.

Again, please see the website for all the details. This year is looking to be one of the best yet, and we hope to see many new teams in Atlanta!

I look forward to hearing from you.
